Our Nursing Education department is pulling back on the amount of time they will provide to train new nursing unit volunteers. They used to run a 4 hour class 3 times a year that included both didactic and simulated education. The nursing unit staff does not have the time to fill in the gaps for each new volunteer.
If you have a training model that works for your hospital, or materials that you find effective (especially videos, etc that address how to interact with patients) I would appreciate anything you can share.
