Volunteer who is blind

Hello! I wonder if anyone has ideas on tasks in a hospital that a volunteer who is blind can safely assist with. I have an applicant that I set up in a waiting room where I thought she could answer questions and give directions to common places, but the staff in that area felt it would be too fast-paced and that a level of being able to anticipate questions would be needed. I'm curious if anyone has ideas or currently has a volunteer who is blind and what they do in their volunteer role. Thanks!

Sorry for a delayed response, I only just joined SHVL.  I have a very visually impaired volunteer.  Fortunately, she worked at the hospital prior to her vision loss.  I paired her up with another volunteer who has been volunteering for many years, but is unable to escort patients.  The visually impaired volunteer escorts our patients (using her cane) and if she does not know where to go, the other volunteer will give verbal directions and she can get our patients where they need to go.  A match made in heaven.
