I work with our Foundation office on our employee recognition program -  when a family member or a resident make a donation in recognition of the hard work an employee did. 

Do any of you have a program like this? What do you do for the employees recognized by family donations?

Hi Colleen,

We have an employee recognition program that's separate from what you're talking about. If someone makes a donation honoring a staff member, the Foundation sends the same type of acknowledgement note they'd send anyone else "a gift has been made to Shepherd Center in your honor by XXX..." Our STAR program uses ballots for anyone (patient/family/visitor/coworker) to recognize an employee for going above and beyond. There are ballot boxes all over the hospital and we have a volunteer who enters the nominations each week. There's a review committee that vets them and then you basically accrue points. You're awarded a star pin - bronze, silver or gold - as you accrue, and you know we love a good pin for our lanyards! We also participate in the Daisy and Sunshine programs.
