For those Volunteer Managers who also have responsibilities re: receipt and allocation of community donations for patients and/or staff - is this reflected in your job description? If so, would you be willing to share?
The community outreach portion of my job has increased steadily over the past few years and I'm working on updating my job description to reflect this.
Jill, I receive a majority of donations that come into the hospital. I send thank you notes for the donations. I just began capturing those donations and recording them as "group/community volunteers". It is not reflected in my job description; but, as you noted; has become a larger portion of my position. I do report the "in kind" information to the Foundation on a monthly basis.
