    Jamine,

Thanks for getting this going.  I am looking forward to another session or sessions at Myrtle Beach as well as lively conversation in the forum.

I want everyone else to know that you are probably the pacesetter for using Volgistics.  I certainly appreciate your support and counsel as we transitioned from Volworks to Volgistics.  Volgistics is a very user friendly system.

I will again offer to do a session to introduce Volgistics to non- or new users, if you will do a session for advanced users in Myrtle Beach.  Just as long as they are not scheduled for the same time, I don't want to miss out on anything new you are doing.

I will also start off the discussion by asking how many Volgistics users out there are using the email all active volunteers to send newsletters and reorientation materials?  We are at Children's of Alabama and it has certainly cut cost of paper, printing and postage.

    Thanks,

    Frank

I am ready to send the newsletter this way, just haven't gone through with it. Sounds like I just found my New Year's resolution.

I use the email function ALL THE TIME! One of my favorite parts.

I have sent all 2011 Volunteer Newsletters via Volgistics email. I have received a very good response from my volunteers. More than 75% have email. We print and post a few copies at key locations for those with no email.  No pushback, no problems. Lots of savings in time and money. I say go for it. Eileen

We are now less than 10% without email addresses since we have been sending information out email.  And before anyone asks, our oldest volunteer has an email address.  We keep a mailing list for those without email and have about a dozen names on it.  We also print copies and have them available next to the touch panels.

Another great use was to quickly send a reminder early last week to the volunteers who come in on Thursday and Friday to let the department know if they would not be in this week.  Included in the email was a listing of departments that would be closed.

A question to all Volgistics users.  We are considering transitioning from VR to Volgistics and are interested in using the email option.  How many email addresses can you send to on one message.  We have 900 volunteers and today have to break them into groups and send separately.  Could I send to all 900 simultaneously?

    Thank you for your information.

    Lou,

You can send to one person or everyone in the database and anywhere in between.

Easy to do.  Also you can make sets to send to various groups if need be.

Let me know if I can provide more info to you.

I have used volgistics to send the newsletter, then run labels off the list it generates for those who do not have email.  That cuts down on a lot of paper.  I also use the program to send quick notices and forms.  I also use VicTouch to send birthday cards and greetings.

I run  pictoral director for vols that cost nothing!
