I have inherited the COVID screeners, 2 employee's. I was asked to come up with a station for them, rather than a high table with a table cloth. 

I would like to find out what your hospital is doing as far as screening?

We did not give out name tags pre-covid and not sure if we need to continue. We were when COVID was still an issue. They were hand written with the room number on it along with visitors name. Do you give name tags, and if so what is the reason? 

I'd also be interested in the questions that you ask the people as they are coming in. We are asking the: the symptoms question  and if they have had contact or live with anyone COVID positive. If so the screener notifies the department the visitor is going to. 

I would like to turn this into a concierge/covid screener person. 

One of the employees that has been doing the screening since it began goes into all kind of details and I want to minimize her time with them if possible. 

Do you have anything you give visitors such as a map to find where they are going? 

And for someone that is coming in to visit the spouse or child in the hospital, are those being screened every time they arrive?  

I know this is a LOT, but I really need some ideas what other hospitals are doing. And if possible, can you send me a picture of your screening area if you still have one. nancy.rogers@scotlandhealth.org

At NMMC in Tupelo, we have stopped the temperature checking and screening with the questions. We also stopped monitoring the number of visitors coming in. All my people do now is "mask patrol". We just make sure everyone has on a mask as they enter the hospital. This is done at the information desk just inside the main door. They also give out patient room numbers if needed and directions to other areas of the hospital. We are praying for no other outbreaks. We sure don't want to have to go back to monitoring visitation, etc.
